  • Pepsi Max Big One: The UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster, reaching 87mph and soaring 235ft into the air, the rollercoaster offers fantastic views of the surrounding Blackpool area. The Pepsi Max Big One is surrounded by other rides and fun things to do, which is why this attracts so many different kinds of people.
  • Blackpool Tower: one of Britain’s most famous landmarks, inspired by the Eifel Tower and built in 1894, the tower is 518ft high and has a Skywalk with a large glass panel that you can walk across, looking down at the promenade below.
  • Blackpool Illuminations: With thousands of lights and oversized cartoon characters, people flock to Blackpool just to enjoy the illuminations every year.
  • The promenade: known as the Golden Mile, Blackpool’s promenade stretches from the South to the North pier, overlooking the stunning Irish Sea. There is also a Comedy Carpet that features songs, jokes and catchphrases from over 1000 comedians, using over 160,000 granite letters.

  • Arcades: Every seaside resort has an arcade, but Blackpool’s arcades have to be some of the best. Coral Island, for example, has pretty much any game and slot machine you can think of, as well as a monorail and a ghost train.
  • Fish and Chips: Nothing says British like Fish and Chips.
  • Charity Shops: there are tons of charity shops all around the world and a good majority of them are in Blackpool.
  • Trams: Lots of cities around the UK have trams, but Blackpool is known for its 11 miles of vintage tram system, which has now been running for more than 125 years.
  • Notarianni’s ice cream parlour: A famous Italian ice cream parlour that has been on Warterloo Road for more than 70 years.
  • Winter Gardens: Established in 1878, the Winter Gardens has 12 different venues, including the Opera House, one of the largest theatres in the UK.
  • Rock: okay so this isn’t an attraction, but let’s face it, one of the fun things about going to Blackpool is enjoying the rock!
